Partnerships and Institutional Change

Research Questions:

  • How is the partnership between UoE and WFP under TAGDev influencing research, innovation, and community engagement? aimhub.uoeld.ac.ke
  • What institutional changes (policies, culture, capacity) has TAGDev 2.0 prompted at UoE? (e.g., experiential learning policy, entrepreneurship policy) aimhub.uoeld.ac.ke
  • What facilitators and barriers exist for embedding TAGDev-driven policies into the university’s systems?

Methods:

  • Policy analysis: Review the newly developed policies (experiential learning, entrepreneurship, digital economy) and evaluate their adoption and implementation.
  • Key informant interviews: Interview university leadership, faculty, students, and TAGDev staff on institutional transformation.
  • Organizational case study: Document the process of change (how were policies developed, what resistance was there, what support was needed).
  • Benchmarking: Compare UoE’s institutional changes against other universities in the TAGDev 2.0 consortium, possibly via a cross-case comparative study.

Implications:

  • Provide deep insights into how large development programs can transform university structures.
  • Identify success factors and challenges that can inform other universities in the TAGDev 2.0 network.
  • Support sustainability by embedding changes into the institutional fabric (policy, governance, curricula)
