Research Questions:
- How are women and differently-abled youth participating in the TAGDev 2.0 entrepreneurship initiatives (e.g., incubator)?
- What gender-specific barriers exist in starting and scaling agribusiness ventures among TAGDev participants?
- What strategies (mentorship, financing, training) are most effective for promoting inclusive agripreneurship under TAGDev?
Methods:
- Gender analysis: Use gender-disaggregated data collection (surveys, interviews) to compare participation rates, business growth, access to resources.
- Barrier mapping: Identify institutional, cultural, financial barriers specifically affecting women and marginalized youth.
- Intervention experiment: Pilot a tailored support package (e.g., gender-responsive mentorship + micro-loans) for a subgroup and evaluate its outcomes compared to a control group.
Implications:
- Help TAGDev 2.0 and UoE develop more inclusive entrepreneurship support models.
- Strengthen gender-focused policies within the university (e.g., in their entrepreneurship policy).
- Provide data for funders/policymakers about the costs and benefits of gender-inclusive agribusiness programs.
